Zero Waste Ōtaki are actively committed to diverting waste from landfill and fostering community engagement and education.
Our first project is Domestic Wood recycling, aimed at repurposing “good wood” and reducing the waste into landfill.
We are open every Wednesday 0930-1100 and the LAST Sunday of every month 0930-noon

GREENER THINKING
Zero Waste Ōtaki has been developed over the past 5 years by members of the Ōtaki and Kāpiti Coast Community and is run by volunteers.
IT’S REUSABLE, NOT RUBBISH
We can take domestic wood that meets the following basic specifications:
- WOOD SUITABLE FOR HOUSE OR GARDEN PROJECTS
- TANALISED TIMBER of USABLE LENGTH
- ITEMS FOR UPCYCLING
- FIREWOOD
- NO MDF or PARTICLE BOARD

VOLUNTEER
Zero Waste Ōtaki is powered by volunteers!
Tasks Include: Sorting Wood, De-nailing Wood, Upcycling Items, Building Items (ie: Planter Boxes), Administration and Documentation.
We are open every Wednesday 0930-1100 and the LAST Sunday of every month 0930-noon
